Stable CVS Version 1.11.22 Released!
Stable CVS 1.11.22 has been released. Stable releases contain only bug fixes from previous versions of CVS. This version fixes a serious client problem that could cause CVS to report files with conflicts as unmodified when talking to old servers under certain circumstances, as well as some other minor fixes and efficiency improvements. We recommend this upgrade for all CVS clients and servers!
Please take a look at the NEWS file from the CVS source distribution for more information about the changes contained in this release.
CVS can be downloaded from the GNU download server within four hours of this announcement or one of the mirrors after 24 hours or so (make sure to check the non-gnu directory on the mirrors). (This release may be obtained from Savannah download server prior to appearing on the GNU download server, but please don't use the already heavily loaded Savannah download server unless you have to.) For other ways to obtain CVS, please read How to get GNU Software.
CVS Feature Version 1.12.13 Released! * Security Update *
Feature CVS 1.12.13 has been released. Feature releases contain new features as well as all the bug fixes from the stable releases. This version fixes two security vulnerabilities in the zlib compression libraries (see CERT vulnerabilities advisories #238678 & #680620 for more info), several issues involving potential data-loss on heavily loaded systems, some minor potential crashes, hangs, and several minor annoyances in CVS client and server behavior.
This release also adds a handful of new features, mostly providing expanded server configurability, but including repair of a major Windows client issue that has prevented the Windows client from accessing remote repositories for several feature releases and fixes for some minor cvs watch bugs.
We recommend this upgrade for all CVS clients and servers already running the feature release and for those who simply like to stay on the cutting edge!
Please take a look at the NEWS file from the CVS source distribution for more information about the changes contained in this release.

CVS Development has Moved to savannah.nongnu.org.
The CVS developers would like to thank CollabNet on behalf of the CVS community for their support and hosting these last several years. However, the CVS developers have decided that it is in the best interests of CVS development and the CVS community to move CVS development to the open source development pages for non-gnu projects hosted by the Free Software Foundation, at http://savannah.nongnu.org.
Please visit the new home page for the CVS project!
Users subscribed to mailing lists that were hosted at the cvshome.org site will also need to subscribe to the new lists hosted at nongnu.org.
Users subscribed to info-cvs@gnu.org and bug-cvs@gnu.org should not need to update their subscriptions to the new info-cvs@nongnu.org and bug-cvs@nongnu.org mailing lists. Settings and archives from the old lists should have been preserved in the conversion to the new and the old list names should remain as aliases for the new lists, at least for the foreseeable future.
Visit the new mailing list information page for archives and subscription information.
Since much of the information and documentation on www.cvshome.org would often become out of date due to lack of time on the part of the authorized staff to handle all of the incoming suggestions for improvement, much of the old cvshome.org site has been archived, with future maintenance to be performed in this Wiki.
Regards,
The CVS Developers
