Jim Kingdon, Merry X-mas and happy new-year ! Please download the beta-3 version of MacCVS (http://www.redrock.net/parentea/maccvs.html), contributed by Miro Jurisic and myself. Improvements are detailed into the ChangeLog file enclosed with this mail. This version doesn't require anymore GUSI and Internet Config. Instead informations are supplied about where to find them. Enclosed also with this mail are 4 snapshots of MacCVS : a general view of MacCVS, the folder picker (to update, commit, add folder...), the multi-files picker (to update, commit, remove files...) and the preference dialog with help baloons. The user interface is not targeted (at least in my mind) to give a Macintosh touch : I tried to make it as closed as possible with an Unix session. But unfortunately there is no good shell on Macintosh, so the little UI allows the make the application independent but still can be used with others programs (like MPW and MacPerl). Some of the Windows programmers here in Strata would like to have the same application on Windows ! I think the users at least are not confused by such an interface. Also enclosed is the maccvs html documentation : feel free to tell me what I can improve. Finnaly enclosed is the annoucement I posted 2 weeks ago in these newsgroups : comp.os.linux.announces, comp.sys.mac.programmer.codewarrior, comp.sys.mac.programmer.tools, comp.software.config-mgmt I tried twice to post it but it didn't seem to work : I never saw it in any of these newsgroups. Perhaps I got a problem with my news posting. It's too bad we cannot post it, please tell me your mind about it (did it work for you, can you make the post ?). The next steps we would like to do with Miro Jurisic are to merge with the current 1.9.xxx version (but it seems we should wait since the binary ability is broken in 1.9.20), to open a MacCVS repository somewhere in the world, and probably more bugs fixing. The MacCVS version is very stable for me now and quite completly functionnal. I hope we'll be able to ship a 3.0 final soon. Best regards, alex.
