Meet the CVS developers

Here is a list of the CVS developers and an attempt to briefly summarize what they have contributed to CVS (either directly or by cleaning up and checking in changes from other people). For more detailed records you will want to look at the ChangeLog files, and other authorship records in the CVS source distribution.

Current CVS developers

Ian Lance Taylor
A vast number of bug-fixes and performance enhancements, including much of the RCS library, GSS-API, better networking/buffering code, and more, 1993-present.
Jim Kingdon
Many bug-fixes and new features, including code cleanups, testsuite enhancements, PreservePermissions, much of the RCS library, case-insensitivity code for Windows, binary file work, documentation fixes, and much more, 1993-present. Coordinated the CVS 1.5 and 1.7 releases.
Noel Cragg
Various features and fixes, including work on checkouts (modules, absolute pathnames, RELATIVE_REPOS, &c), Windows NT local, and more, 1995-present. Coordinated the CVS 1.10 release.
Jim Meyering
Fair number of bugfixes, code cleanups, 1995-present.
Larry Jones

Former CVS developers

JT Conklin
Performance improvements and code cleanups, 1994-1996. Removed from the CVS developers by agreement of the remaining developers, as email has started bounced and we heard he has dropped out of free software projects (Aug 1998).
Sam Tardieu
A few bugfixes from 1995, 1996, and 1998. Resigned, Aug 1998.
Jim Blandy
Windows client, fixes, 1995-1996. Resigned, Oct 1997.
Jason Williams
Coordinated the CVS 1.11 release, 2000.
