Eurotherm

EuroTherm has eight developers on two different platforms in the United States and around fifteen developers on four platforms in the United Kingdom. EUROTHERM is an international group of companies engaged in the design, manufacture, and sale of electronic equipment for use in industrial and scientific applications. Eurotherm has been a Cyclic customer from December 1995 to the present.

Martin Tomes: We have a small number of developers in Italy. CVS has enabled them work with code which is stored in the UK repository. This has prevented projects from fragmenting as the code base can be kept consistent by branching, developing, and then merging into the mainline code.

The CVS client/server protocol also minimises connect time by sending diffs to the client wherever possible.

It was the client/server aspect of CVS which convinced us to use it in the first place as there are users in the US, Italy, and two sites in Worthing.
