Cyclic web design standards

Cyclic web design standards

This page, intended mainly for communication within Cyclic and with our graphic designers, describes our graphic design standards for our web site and web banners.

General

Images should look good on all backgrounds. In practice, this means that all images should be surrounded by some kind of border, with no use of transparency (except that one might use a non-rectangular border with no anti-aliasing on the outside edge).

No animation. No how, no where, no way.

"Cyclic Software" should be in a sans serif font in logos (as on our home page). A few of the older designs use Times or some such, but that is somewhat uglier.

Graphics for the Cyclic web page

Logo at top of home page: Cyclic Software

Logo at top of Cyclic pages (pages without a particular CVS focus). English and International: [Cyclic top-of-page] [Cyclic top-of-page international]

Logo at top of CVS pages. English and International: [Cyclic/CVS top-of-page] [Cyclic/CVS top-of-page international]

Logo at the bottom of every page. Note that this is an exception to the rule about borders, because it is used in a context where browsers will generally add their own border: [Cyclic Home]

Legal

The Cyclic logos are trademarks of Cyclic Software; we authorize their use only to refer to genuine Cyclic Products. If you want to produce your own CD-ROM's, T shirts, &c, or refer to the electronically distributed software, please use the CVS logos instead (and/or the logos for PRCS, Aegis, &c).
