Development of CVS: web
This is a somewhat miscellaneous page for various packages which work with CVS and the web (with the emphasis on experimental or obscure packages, or information aimed at people who want to help develop these packages). We have information more focused on users and existing packages on our CVS and the web page.
The mod_cvs module for the Apache web server allows Apache to fetch pages from CVS as needed (see also Keeping a checked out copy).
The org.w3c.cvs classes have piqued some people's curiosity but have little documentation that we've been able to find. It plugs into the Jigsaw web server somehow (according to the README.cvs file), but we don't know what it does. Someday hopefully someone will get around to asking the authors.
Of course, no mention of CVS and the web would be complete without talking about the Distributed Authoring and Versioning (DAV) set of web-based protocols. See the DAV section of our Version Control Interfaces page.
