Keeping a checked out copy

Keeping a checked out copy

To maintain a directory tree which contains files which correspond to the latest version in the repository, the simplest way is to use "cvs update" as described in the Cederqvist. The following alternate solution avoids creating CVS subdirectories in the checked out tree and also is faster.

If you use FTP to update your web pages instead, look at CVSviaFTP.

Or another solution is the mod_cvs module for the Apache web server. With this module, when Apache goes to fetch a page, it will first check whether it needs to update that page from CVS.
